Patchwork Granny Square Blankets – I wrote a book!
Patchwork Granny Square Blankets is Coming!
I can hardly believe I’m writing this, but after a year of dreaming in yarn, countless hours spent with my hook in hand, and even a few naughty words, I’m so excited to finally share some wonderful news with you.
My brand-new crochet pattern book, Patchwork Granny Square Blankets, will be released in November 2025!
This book has truly been a labour of love. It’s filled with colourful crochet blanket inspiration, centred around my absolute favourite thing to make: the granny square. You all know how much I adore granny squares, and having the opportunity to write a whole book about them is a dream come true.
In Patchwork Granny Square Blankets, I take the timeless granny square and give it a quilt-inspired crochet makeover. Drawing on traditional quilt motifs and comforting colour combinations, the patterns are designed to be both beautiful to look at and satisfying to crochet.
Don’t worry if you’re new to crochet. This book was written with all skill levels in mind. The patterns include my usual step-by-step instructions and clear photo tutorials to guide you through every stitch. There will also be a series of accompanying mini videos to help you if you need it.
Whether you’re just learning how to crochet a granny square or you’ve been making them for years, there’s something in this book for you. I’ve included all my tips and tricks throughout to help you along the way.
You’ll learn to make classic quilt blocks in crochet form, including Nine Patch, Log Cabin and the wonderfully versatile Ohio Star.
In total, the book includes 12 granny square quilt blocks and 10 full projects. There is also a section to help you make your own designs. The possibilities for mixing, matching, and customising your crochet blankets are endless.
With colour inspiration throughout, choose traditional colour schemes or something bold and modern. The flexibility is all yours.
To top it off, the photography in this book is truly something special. Styled by the wonderful Claire Montgomerie (yes, from Inside Crochet), each photo brings the patterns to life and offers loads of inspiration for colour palettes. Claire’s eye for detail has made me look like a proper professional!
This book has taken a full year of designing, crocheting, writing, illustrating, and photographing. There have been moments of pure creative joy, and of course, plenty of frogging. My whole house was completely consumed by crochet at one point. There wasn’t a single room or surface that didn’t have something crochet related on it. Fortunately my husband is completely used to my yarny shenannigans and there’s nothing quite like making a huge mess for boosting your creativity! Here are some pictures that I took when I was in full creative flow!
Now that it’s finished, I can’t wait to see the beautiful things you make from it. Each pattern is a little celebration of colour, tradition, and the joy of crochet.
Pre-orders are now open, which honestly feels like a pinch-myself moment. After keeping everything under wraps for so long, it’s such a joy to finally share this with you.
If the book sounds like something you’d enjoy, I’d be so grateful if you considered pre-ordering a copy. It really does make a big difference to the book’s visibility and helps it reach the hands of more makers who might love it too.
Thank you, as always, for your love and support. It means the world to me.
