The Winter Lights Blanket

Drum roll…….. My book, Patchwork Granny Square Blankets, is finally in the shops! It’s taken over 18 months, so I'm so thrilled to finally be able to share it with you.

To celebrate, and to say thank you to everyone who has bought the book, I have a little gift for you. The Winter Lights Blanket is a festive bonus pattern which uses the blocks and techniques from the book and you can download it here.

When I was working on the book, it was always my intention that it wouldn’t just have patterns to follow, but give you the tools you need to design your own blankets or recreate cherished family quilt designs. All of the blocks, techniques and borders in the book are completely interchangeable so you can combine them in infinite ways to come up with your own designs. You can choose your preferred joining methods too. Not keen on join as you go? Crochet or sew together instead. The choice is yours entirely. There are some handy downloadable resources at the back of the book to help with planning too!

Winter Lights is designed to look like twinkling Christmas Lights and uses Nine Patch, Sawtooth Star and Ohio Star blocks. I’ve used my favourite shades of Stylecraft Life DK for a gentle nod to the season without looking like a Christmas explosion. I’m hoping it has a more sophisticated, grown up vibe!
